‘Spotilight’ is a concept and working prototype of a home gadget that visualizes data through light, color, and movement. ‘Spotilight’ is designed to be used at house-parties and aims to increase the engagement level of the guests. By redefining the trigger source, ‘Spotilight’ connects to the users’ actions and its behavior changes based on what the guests do on Spotify and Instagram during a party.
This project is realized by a team of five in a one-week intensive workshop of ‘From Mind to Reality’, Italy. The goal of this project was to design and prototype an object able to make live data streams tangible. In this project, various steps such as research and ideation, identifying a relevant live data source, prototyping, coding, testing, and CAD modeling were developed.
